How to Win

Eligibility

NGOs must be legally registered to operate in Kenya.

Impact

Organisation should demonstrate impact including measurable outcomes and benefits. Evidence of impact required may include but not limited to documents, video testimonials and other forms of proof.

Relevance

Projects and programmes should fit in the award(s) category the organization has applied for.

Scalability

Potential for the project or initiative to be scaled up or replicated in other regions or communities.

Sustainability

The team is also looking for programmes that ensure environmental, social, and economic sustainability.

Communication and Collaboration

The organisation should show evidence of effective collaboration with communities or stakeholders. Good use of media, whether traditional, community, social media or any other, will also be considered.

Innovation

Implementation of innovative approaches or technologies in sustainable development projects.

Financial Accountability

Transparent and responsible use of funds and resources.

Relevance to SDGs or BETA

Alignment with one or more of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals or the government Bottoms Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) will be an advantage.

Awarding Criteria

Judges Review

Evaluation by a panel of judges drawn from various sectors. This will count for 30 per cent of the score.

Public Voting

The public to vote on shortlisted organisations to gauge community support and engagement. This will count for 70 per cent of the score.
